In this tutorial we are going to learn how to activate Calculator mode in MoneyCoach.
Calculator mode changes the amount input keyboard so you can make quick calculations while entering a transaction amount instead of switching to another app first.
Step-by-step guide
- Open MoneyCoach
- Go to Settings
- Tap on General
- Scroll down to the Keyboard type section
- Select Calculator
- Go back and open the New Transaction screen
- Enter your amount using calculator-style input directly in the amount field
Now Calculator mode is active and MoneyCoach will use the calculator keyboard when you enter transaction amounts.
When to use Calculator mode
Calculator mode is useful when you want to do a quick calculation while adding a transaction without leaving MoneyCoach. Instead of switching to another app, you can use the built-in calculator-style keyboard to work out the final amount directly in the transaction field.
This is especially handy in everyday situations such as:
- Splitting a dinner bill with another person
- Calculating a discount while shopping
- Adding together multiple small purchases from the same receipt
- Adjusting a total before saving the transaction
For example, if the total dinner bill is 48 and you want to split it in half, you can enter the amount, divide it by 2, and save the correct value straight away.
Additional information
Calculator mode supports the four basic operations you would expect for quick calculations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
If you want to switch back, repeat the same steps and change the Keyboard type from Calculator to Normal.
