Local MCP reads the live MoneyCoach store on your Mac. Optional MoneyCoach Cloud sharing gives approved assistants a read-only copy of selected data.

Read-only by design

Neither connection lets assistants create transactions, edit records, move money or contact your bank. Both require your opt-in; cloud sharing uploads selected data only after separate consent.

MoneyCoach MCP FAQ

Can MCP change my MoneyCoach data?

No. Both local MCP and optional MoneyCoach Cloud sharing provide read-only access after your consent. Assistants cannot move money or change your MoneyCoach records.

Does MoneyCoach send MCP data to a remote MoneyCoach server?

It depends on the connection you choose. The local Mac MCP helper does not upload data to MoneyCoach. If you separately enable MoneyCoach Cloud sharing, selected data is uploaded as a read-only copy for assistants you approve. Either assistant may process retrieved data under its own privacy terms.

Which data can assistants read?

Supported tools can read account details, budgets, goals, active recurring costs, and transaction search results. Optional privacy toggles can hide payee names and transaction descriptions.

Is MCP included in every plan?

AI and MCP access requires Premium Max. Local MCP runs on Mac; optional MoneyCoach Cloud sharing supports approved assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude. Review platform availability in the app.
