Apple Card import for US users

Budget your Apple Card spending on iPhone, iPad and Mac

MoneyCoach is a money management app for Apple devices with a dedicated Apple Card importer. Export a monthly statement or a custom date range from Wallet as CSV, pick the file in MoneyCoach, and the transactions are imported, categorized, and linked to payees without column mapping. From there you get Category Budgets, reports, bill reminders, and goals on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch.

Import one Apple Card statement first, then set a Category Budget from what you see.

Apple Card CSV import in MoneyCoach

Short answer

MoneyCoach imports Apple Card statements as CSV, categorizes the transactions automatically, and turns them into budgets and reports. It works on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch, and it needs no bank login: you export the statement from Wallet and import it in a couple of taps.

Start with the right fit

Who the Apple Card importer is for

Apple Card holders who want purchases categorized their way, not only by Apple’s merchant categories.

People who track cash, other credit cards, and savings and want Apple Card in the same picture.

Users who would rather import a statement than hand a budgeting app their bank credentials.

Couples who share Apple Card spending and review it together with Family Sync.

Best for

  • You pay for most things with Apple Card and want those purchases inside a real budget.
  • You prefer a monthly statement import over giving an app your bank login.
  • You already download Apple Card statements and want the CSV to do more than sit in Files.
  • You want Apple Card spending next to cash, other cards, and bank accounts in one app.

Not the best fit if

  • You want every Apple Card purchase to appear in the app the moment you tap to pay.
  • You are outside the US: Apple Card is US-only, so the importer has nothing to import.

Comparison

Apple Card CSV import vs Wallet only vs spreadsheet

Wallet shows Apple Card activity well, but it stops at Apple Card. The question is where the transactions go when you want budgets, categories you control, and a view that includes the rest of your money.

Workflow
What you get
Tradeoff
Apple Card CSV import into MoneyCoach
Statement transactions categorized, budgeted, and reported alongside every other account, synced across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch.
One export and import per statement; review before confirming a second import to avoid duplicates.
Wallet app only
Apple Card balance, monthly statements, and Apple’s own merchant categories.
No budgets, no other accounts, no custom categories, no reports across cards.
Spreadsheet
Full control over formulas and layout from the same CSV export.
Manual categorization, no mobile capture, no budget alerts or bill reminders.

MoneyCoach workflow

What MoneyCoach does with an Apple Card statement

  • Dedicated Apple Card CSV importer: pick the file, no column mapping.
  • Automatic categorization, descriptions, and payee linking on import.
  • Category Budgets so Apple Card purchases count against a monthly limit.
  • Financial reports that combine Apple Card with every other account.
  • Bill reminders for the Apple Card payment due date.
  • iCloud sync to iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch; Family Sync to share with a partner.

What to know before you rely on it

Apple Card transactions arrive through a statement or date-range export from Wallet, not a live connection. Import once per statement and check the first and last dates before importing again.

MoneyCoach bank sync is for Europe (2,800+ banks in 30 countries). Apple Card is US-only, so it is never part of bank sync.

Apple Card is the one card with a dedicated importer. Other US cards go through the general CSV importer with column mapping.

★★★★★

This app ROCKS

So many money management apps require linking your bank accounts… I LOVE that MoneyCoach makes it optional. I use the app as a modern way to “balance the checkbook”, and MoneyCoach makes it easy and fun.

Common concerns

Questions people ask before switching

Is this a live sync with Apple Card?

No. Apple Card transactions come in through the statement export you make in Wallet or at card.apple.com. Since Apple added custom date-range exports, you can bring in the current cycle without waiting for the statement to close.

Will I have to map CSV columns by hand?

No. The Apple Card option in Settings > Import & Export reads the Apple Card file format directly. Column mapping is only needed for CSVs from other banks.

Does MoneyCoach bank sync cover Apple Card?

No. MoneyCoach bank sync connects 2,800+ banks across 30 European countries, and Apple Card is a US-only card. Use the CSV importer for Apple Card and bank sync for eligible European accounts.

Budget your Apple Card spending on iPhone, iPad and Mac FAQ

How do I export an Apple Card statement?

On iPhone, open Wallet, tap Apple Card, tap Card Balance, scroll to Statements and choose a month, then tap Export Transactions. For a custom period, tap Export Transactions under Statements and pick the start and end dates. The same options are available in Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay on iPad and at card.apple.com.

How do I import Apple Card transactions into MoneyCoach?

Save the CSV to Files or iCloud Drive, then in MoneyCoach open Settings > Import & Export, tap Apple Card: Import, tap Select CSV, and choose the file. US users also see an Import Apple Card shortcut on the top card in the app.

Does MoneyCoach categorize Apple Card transactions automatically?

Yes. The Apple Card importer categorizes transactions, adds descriptions, and links payees on import. You can change any category afterwards, and bulk edit lets you fix several transactions at once.

Is there bank sync for Apple Card?

No. MoneyCoach bank sync covers 2,800+ European banks in 30 countries, and Apple Card is only available in the US. Apple Card transactions come in through the statement or date-range CSV export.

Does it work with Apple Card Family or a partner?

Yes. Import the Apple Card statement, then turn on Family Sync in Settings > Data & Sync and invite your partner. Both of you see the same imported transactions. Family Sync is a Premium feature for everyone in the shared view.

Do imported Apple Card transactions sync to Mac and Apple Watch?

Yes. Imported transactions sync through iCloud to MoneyCoach on iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch, so you can import on iPhone and review reports or budgets on a larger screen.

What if I import the same statement twice?

You get duplicates. Before confirming a second import, compare the first and last transaction dates in the CSV with the Apple Card account in MoneyCoach, and use non-overlapping date ranges for custom exports.
