Conversations keep a discussion attached to the transaction it concerns. They are useful for confirming a payer, explaining a changed estimate, choosing between trip options, or documenting why a shared cost was adjusted.
Add a useful comment
- Open the relevant transaction.
- Open its comment or conversation control.
- State the question or decision clearly.
- Include the next action and owner when needed.
- Reply in the same thread so the context stays together.
For example: “The hotel total increased from €420 to €468 because tax was added. Are we approving the new total? Please reply by Friday.”
The current Liquid Glass interface may place controls differently from this older screenshot. MoneySpaces includes current tutorials under Settings → Tutorials.
Keep comments safe and constructive
Do not post bank credentials, full card numbers, tax identifiers, medical details, or other secrets. Every member of a shared Space may be able to read its collaboration history.
Discuss the transaction and decision, not a person's character. Replace “You always overspend” with “Dining is €45 above the amount we agreed; should we reduce another category or revise the plan?”
Use comments for context, not as the only record of a final number. Once the group agrees, update the transaction or plan so the Space reflects the decision.
A simple decision format
- Question: What needs agreement?
- Evidence: What amount, date, or quote changed?
- Options: What realistic choices exist?
- Decision: Which option was selected?
- Owner and date: Who will act, and by when?
Review unresolved conversations during a weekly check. Close the loop with a final reply, such as “Approved; Maya booked it for €468 on 27 August.”
If a collaborator receives no update, first confirm that they still have access to the Space, are using the intended iCloud account, and run the latest app version. Notification delivery can vary, so do not rely on a notification alone for an urgent payment deadline.
