TL;DR

  • Connect a keyboard to iPad or use MoneyCoach on Mac.
  • Hold Command on iPad to see available shortcuts for the current screen.
  • Use keyboard focus, Tab, Return, Escape, and arrow keys where supported by the system.
  • Combine keyboard navigation with Quick Entry and Shortcuts for faster transaction entry.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Open MoneyCoach on iPad with a hardware keyboard, or open MoneyCoach on Mac.
  2. Hold Command to display available shortcuts on the current screen.
  3. Use visible shortcuts to open common app areas or actions.
  4. Use Tab to move keyboard focus through supported controls.
  5. Use Return to confirm a focused action when available.
  6. Use Escape to close sheets, menus, or modal views when supported.
  7. Use arrow keys in lists where keyboard focus is active.

Available shortcuts can depend on the screen you are viewing and the platform you are using.

When keyboard navigation helps

  • Reviewing a long list of transactions.
  • Moving between accounts, budgets, reports, and settings.
  • Entering several transactions in one session.
  • Using MoneyCoach on iPad with a keyboard case.
